Client was charged with 3rd Degree Murder because she was accused of selling heroin to an individual who eventually died from an overdose. Mr. Peterson interviewed several witnesses, hired an expert in toxicology, and aggressively investigated the background of the deceased individual. He discovered that the individual had not only purchased other heroin after purchasing from his client, but also took a large amount of other narcotic drugs. He and his expert convinced the prosecutor that there was no way that the heroin purchased from the client could have killed the individual. Mr. Peterson arranged a plea deal where the client pled guilty to selling drugs, and avoided a lengthy prison sentence.
